Yesterday we had a charity tractor run stopping at the farm where I live, for a lunch break.
Nearly 120 tractors took part and it was organised by Keeston Young Farmers Club to celebrate their 70th anniversary . They were raising money for one of the wards at our local hospital.
A lot of the drivers were girls
And althought there were lots of modern tractors I am posting mainly vintage ones here.
It had been pouring with rain in the morning so we were lucky that it dried up and the sun came out by the time they got here
Some tractors had passengers!
Kids enjoy these tractor runs!
This is an odd looking one
This passenger was chatting on his phone looking very comfortable!
Flying the Welsh Flag
I liked this unusually painted blue and white tractor
They seemed to be never ending arriving - this was the 87th one I photographed!
The organisers had set up a barbecue in one of the big sheds here - they didn't risk it outside as the forecast had said it would probably rain - though it did stay fine in the end. After the drivers and people who came to watch and support them , had been fed, they got back on their tractors and continued on the second part of the run.
I don't know yet how much money was raised.
All the tractors parked in one of the fields for the lunch break
Tractor runs are a popular way of raising money for charity here - do they have them in other countries too?
