Yesterday I went to the Pembrokeshire Hunt Horse and Dog show with a friend. It was a lovely sunny day , thankfully with a breeze so not too hot for the animals.
I took lots of photos so a blog is the best way to post a few !
When we got there about 11am there had already been several classes and they were doing the championship for the Mountain and Moorland breed class winners. Mountain and Moorland covers all the UK native breeds of horses and ponies like the Welsh Cob, Welsh ponies, Irish Connemara, Scottish Highland and many more.
This child on her Welsh pony was one of the entrants.
This Welsh Cob was displaying his assets!
These were the picked as the Champion and reserve in the Mountain and Moorland and are getting their prizes
This one was my favourite - it must be so much work to maintain that mane, tail and leg feathers !
This pretty pony was in a show pony class
This is a competitor in the adult novice jumping
This lovely horse is called Sky
And this one is Eric!
A cute little dog came over to talk to us
The Pembrokeshire Hounds came to meet everyone
Some more prize winners
A winner in the junior showjumping gets her rosette
This converted van was ideal for a horse to get fresh air on a hot day!
And finally Hovis had a great time meeting lots of other dogs and watching the horses - but it was hot and eventually he lay down and had a nice sleep!
