I've taken a lot of photos this weekend so a blog seems the best way to post a few of them!
Yesterday the Pembrokeshire Hunt had a Side Saddle meet - where any ladies attending were invited to come riding side saddle and dressed accordingly.
It's not something you normally see these days except in the show ring !
I got there early and was ready to take photos as people arrived. These two were the first and one of them was riding side saddle .
I've met this girl before and she posed for me to take a photo of her in her elegant outfit.
Soon more riders were arriving
And then the Master and Hunt staff arrived with the hounds
The hounds are very well behaved and stand quietly in a corner
Then some more ladies riding side saddle arrived.
One of the side saddle riders said that she hoped who ever was laying the trail for them to follow, was not going to make them go over too many jumps !
The hosts for the meet provided hot punch to drink and sandwiches and cakes for everyone there. There were about 40 horses and lots of people watching.
The side saddle riders lined up for people to take photos
Finally the Master made a speech thanking the hosts and the farmers who allow them to ride over the land and off they went.
Today it's been cold but sunny and Hovis and I have had a couple of long walks.
I could hardly believe my eyes when a Tortoiseshell butterfly landed infront of me this morning ! I don't think I have ever seen one in December before !
This is Hovis in the woods this morning, taken with my phone as I forgot camera
One of the ponies on Plumstone moor this afternoon. It's so cute - I wanted to take it home with me! Lots of starlings flying past behind it.
Finally another one of Hovis on the moor !
So that's how I spent my weekend !
