Innocent photographer or terrorist?

I've just seen this article on the BBC website  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7351252.stm
It seems many amateur photographers are getting harrassed by police and security people while trying to take photos in public places. Has that happened to anyone on Buzznet?

It only happened to me once, but it was by the security personnel at my work. They're a little picky about photos in the clinic, especially if a person would accidentally get into the shot. It all has to do with patient privacy; but other than that in public places...no.

not yet. it's one of the reasons why i try to take innocuous shots... for the most part. (i was asked once by paranoid management @ a pricey grocery store if i was a "secret shopper.")

Well the military was not happy my camera was aimed at their helicopter and they flew near me to check me out...

its happened to me twice. i was stopped and questioned at liverpool st train station, i had my daughter and nephew with me at the time. they did let me carry on taking pictures once they were satisfied that i wasnt a terrorist. then it happened again in the city of london when i was asked by a security guard not to take photos of a certain building. he said that almost anywhere in the city i would be stopped and asked not to take pictures.
